Mirriam Rafiq Braden

Mirriam Rafiq Braden joined SSI in summer of 2011. Mirriam is a global health professional with an MPH in International Health and Development (Tulane University, 2002). She has over ten years of experience in project and program management and a passion for global health advocacy, especially via social media.
 
She has coordinated clinical, behavioral, and epidemiological health research studies in academic and non-profit settings (UCSF, UC Berkeley, PATH) and has worked or studied in Thailand, India, and Vietnam. She currently serves as program director for UC Berkeley's Center for Global Public Health.
 
Mirriam is dedicated to social epidemiology, translational research, capacity strengthening, evidence-based interventions, and social justice. She is Pakistani-American, born in Karachi and raised in California.
